Historic Legacy

Spirit Inn of Mission Valley rests on the historic site of Texas’s oldest cattle ranch, rooted deep in Spanish and frontier heritage. Just steps away, you’ll find the ruins of Mission Espíritu Santo, originally founded in 1726 near the Guadalupe River, later becoming one of the first large-scale cattle ranching operations in Texas.
Adding to the sense of legacy, the Inn itself rose anew after a fire destroyed its former identity as the Lafitte Hotel in Seadrift in 2005. Following meticulous relocation and restoration, the Inn reopened in 2010—precisely 100 years after its original founding. Today, this storied structure stands as a symbol of rebirth, history, and architectural integrity—all shining through in every gathering hosted here.
